The rates are based on a 24 hour rental day starting with the
hour you pick up the vehicle.
What does base rate mean?
Base rate is the total cost of rental not including the taxes,
fees, surcharges, mandatory coverages, mileage (if applicable) and
optional items (child seats, navigational systems, additional
driver, coverages, etc.).
How old do I have to be to rent a car from
Thrifty?
The renter must be at least 21 years of age and to hold a valid
driving license. He needs from driving experience between one and
three years /according the car group/, otherwise he has to pay
charge from 30 EUR.
What kind of documents do I need to rent a car
from Thrifty?
The documents you need are valid driving license and
driving experience not less than one year , ID card or passport,
and valid credit card.

How do I determine whether or not to accept the
various insurances available at the time of
rental?
- CDW - Collision Damage Waiver
- TPW - Theft Protection Waiver
CDW and TPW
limit renter`s liability to the amount of Non-Waivable Excess. This
excess will aply in case of theft or damage.
- SCDW - Super Collision Damage Waiver
- STPW - Super Theft Protection Waiver
Super waivers are available to remove non-waivable excess. In case
the vehicle was damaged , there are losses or robery of the entire
vehicle or part of it as result of renter`s neglifence , the renter
is obliged to fully in indemnify the lessor.
Police
report is a must when insurance event occurs. If it is not
presented the renter covers all expenses.
Aside from the base rate, what other additional
charges should I check on?
- Delivery / Collection- within city limits is
free of charge. Outside city limits - please ask our
employees.
- Additional driver - Every additional driver will
be charged 3.99EUR per day /maximum charge for 12 days/.
- Additional equipment / childseat 5.00EUR/day, ski
rack 5.00EUR/day or navigation system 5.99EUR/day/
- Airport fee - For all rentals starting at airport
locations we charge 15 EUR.
- Winterization fee - For all rentals between 1st
November - 31st March we apply tax from 2.50 EUR per day / maximum
charge for 12 days/. All cars are equipped with snow tires and ice
scrapers.
- Vignette fee - 1 EUR per day
- Out of hours - 25.00EUR At some locations it may
be possible to return or pick up a car after or before Thrifty
opening hours. Additional charge may apply.
Does the cost of rental of the rental include the
fuel?
All rented vehicles are supplied with full tank and have to be
returned the same way. For missing fuel there is a charge of 3.00
EUR/liter.
Will I be charged if I
bring the vehicle back after the return time on the rental
agreement?
Yes, you will be charged for each hour or part of an hour in
excess of the time you were required to return the vehicle.The
first hour is free of charge.
What happens if the car is damaged, stolen, or in
an accident?
If the car is stolen or has been involved in an accident, first
call the local police or appropriate law enforcement agency. Next
call the nearest office of the rental car company, give them your
rental agreement or confirmation number and explain what has
happened.
Does Thrifty accept debit cards for
payment?
As a general rule, a major credit card is required at the time
of rental. Thrifty accepts the following credit cards:

- Diners club
- Eurocard
- Thrifty
Does Thrifty offer one-way
rentals?
Yes, some locations do offer one way
rentals. Allowe both ways to Sofia downtown , Sofia airport , Varna
Airport and Burgas Airport and only drop off location to
Veliko Tarnovo and Russe. IIn case you return the car to non
authorized location 50% penalty fee will apply.
Can I leave the country with car from
Thrifty?
Cross bordering is forbidden.
